The Fabergé Museum, a privately-owned museum, which was established in order to repatriate lost cultural valuables back to Russia, was opened in 2013. The museum is located in the center of St. Petersburg in the premises of the ShuvalovPalace, on the embankment of the FontankaRiver. The ShuvalovPalace with its total room area of some 4,700 square meters is one of the most beautiful palaces of St. Petersburg, a historical monument and a center of tourist attraction. The museum's collection contains more than 4,000 works of decorative applied and fine arts, including gold and silver items, paintings, porcelain and bronze. The highlights of the museum's collection are nine Imperial Easter eggs created by Fabergé for the last two Russian Emperors — Alexander III and Nicholas II.

The collection of items, created by Fabergé and his assistants, is truly unique: it was acquired by the Link of Times foundation and represents all directions in which Fabergé worked: a variety of exquisite objects of jewelry and haberdashery, silverware, interior decorations, kitchen utensils and religious objects. In addition to items, made by Fabergé himself, the collection includes works by his contemporaries, famous Russian jewelers and silversmiths like Sazikov, Ovchinnikov, Khlebnikov, Ryukert and many others.
